I am Joni Lockwood an integrative Counsellor offering one-to-one counselling for adults.


I work in a warm, relational way, creating a space where you can feel heard, supported, and understood.


My approach is integrative, meaning we draw from different therapeutic models rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.


I work trauma-informed, paying close attention to pace, emotional safety and the therapeutic relationship. Alongside my clinical training, I have experience supporting adults with a range of emotional and relational difficulties, including work connected to mental health services, addiction recovery, and wider wellbeing support.


I value reflective practice, supervision, and ongoing learning.

During therapy, we can explore what is happening for you now, what may be influencing it, and what support you need moving forward.


Many people find that having a consistent and confidential space helps them feel more grounded, clearer, and more connected to themselves over time.


Sessions are available online across the UK, with in-person counselling in Hackney available soon.

My Approach

A Relational and Integrative Framework

My approach is integrative and relational.

I draw from an integrative framework, weaving together different modalities to suit your unique needs and goals. My core training is in integrative counselling, which allows me to adapt and tailor my approach based on what emerges in our sessions and what feels most supportive for you.

    This might include elements of:

  • Person-Centred – A compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can express yourself freely and feel genuinely heard
  • CBT – Practical tools to help understand and manage thoughts, emotions, and behaviours
  • Psychodynamic – Exploring deeper layers beneath your feelings, including past experiences and relationship patterns.
  • Relational – The therapeutic relationship itself becomes a place of healing. Together we notice what arises between us, helping you understand your emotional patterns and develop healthier ways of relating.

Cancellation Policy

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give 48 hours’ notice to avoid being charged
  • If you arrive late, your session will still finish at the scheduled time so I can honour other clients’ appointments
  • Sessions missed without notice will be charged at the full session fee

  • Sessions typically last 50 minutes
  • Regular appointments are scheduled at mutually agreed times
  • Consistent weekly attendance is recommended for optimal progress
